Application to the Residency Program

Applications for July 1, 2010 (PGY-1) positions (12 positions) and July 1, 2011 (PGY-2) (6 positions) positions are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). For explanation about ERAS please consult the Applicant Information Sheet (AIS) at the following site: www.aamc.org/eras/ais/start.htm . Medical Students should contact the Dean's office of their Medical School for application. For applying through ERAS, IMG's should contact the ECFMG Office at erashelp@ecfmg.org  or call 215-386-5900.

Foreign medical graduates are required to have ECFMG certification before applying to the program. We sponsor only J1 visa.

A completed application for the Residency Program at Washington University School of Medicine consists of the following, all of which are submitted through ERAS:

  • Completed Application on ERAS
  • A letter from the Dean of your Medical School and transcript.
  • A curriculum vitae.
  • A personal statement.
  • United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) score, if available. (no minimum score requirement - passage on first attempt is required)
  • Three letters of recommendations in your behalf, preferably one from an anesthesiologist.

Application Deadline is January 1, 2010.

You may apply for both the categorical 4-year program (1353040C0) and/or the advanced 3-year program (1353040A0) in the match.
