This new generation of computer-based simulators combines elements of the best mechanical simulators with models of physiology and pharmacology to provide realistic responses to both common and uncommon events.
The mannequin does everything but perspire. Its real-time computer system is controlled via a graphical interface to manage clinical signs, breath and heart sounds, a full set of pulses, CO2 exhalation, standard hookups for blood pressure, EKG and ECG monitors and motors to operate a thumb twitch and chest expansion.
